On any given day, in any Concept Schools art room, you’ll find that art is a process. You may see students using math, language arts, science, or social studies to complete thematic art units. You’ll certainly see this in Mr. Cycek’s room at Noble Academy Cleveland! Seen here are Adinkra prints from his 4th graders inspired by the Ashanti people of Ghana.
Students spent time studying the Ashanti people and learned the traditional uses for the Adinkra cloth as well as the meaning of their symbols and the processes used to create them. When these Noble fourth graders created their Adinkra designs, they used printing foam and ink to print these wonderful geometric patterns and designs on contstruction paper.
